Out Of Time

OUT OF TIME originated as my academic research project developed within the Biennial of Editorial Photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. I produced this work during the very first reopening phase following the 2020 lockdown, shaping it into a visual inquiry into the de-habituation of the gaze. Following months of isolation, the everyday landscapes around me—which I previously traversed with habit and indifference—suddenly revealed themselves to me as novel, alien, and profoundly foreign spaces. Through a deliberate use of zenithal light and sharp geometric rigor, I wanted to document this perceptual short-circuit: the rediscovery of a territory suspended in a parallel pocket of time, poised between my intimate memory of these places and the visual estrangement of seeing them as if for the very first time.
